Rice & Potatoes

Ingredients (for 4ppl):

Main Ingredients:

  • 200g long grain Uncle Bens rice
  • Salt
  • Shmultz (fat - 3 tsp)
  • 2 x potatoes
  • 400ml chicken stock (2 tbsp of Telmas + 400ml water)
  • 400ml additional water during cooking

Utensils:

  • Pyrex dish

Instructions

Prepare (15min):

  1. Put rice in a Pyrex, cover with water and leave to stand for 10 minutes
  2. Turn oven on to 200°
  3. Slice potatoes thinly
  4. Make 400ml of chicken stock with the Telma

Cooking (60min):

  1. Drain rice
  2. Sprinkle salt over rice
  3. Lay potatoes over the top
  4. Sprinkle salt over the potatoes
  5. Pour stock carefully over everything and then the couple of teaspoons of Shmultz
  6. Put in the oven (1 hour)
  7. After 30 mins add 200ml boiling water
  8. After a further 15 mins add another 200ml
