Sausage Ragu
Ingredients (for 2ppl):
Main Ingredients:
- 4 pork sausages
- 1 small onion
- 1 small carrot
- 1 stick of celery
- 1 garlic
- 100ml of wine
- 500g pasata
- A few basil leaves
Goes Well With:
- Fresh Pasta
- Salad
Utensils:
- Saucepan
Instructions
Prepare (5min):
- Peel onion and carrot and cut in half
- Peel garlic
Cooking (4h 20min):
- Add a tiny bit of olive oil to a saucepan and fry the garlic (1min)
- Remove skin of sausages and crumble into pan, slowly so they don’t stick together (5mins)
- Fry sausages and stir till brown (5mins)
- Add wine and simmer (5 mins)
- Add 500g pasata, carrot, onion, celery and basil and stir
- Bring to the boil and then turn down to simmer and put a lid fully on, stir every 30 mins (3 hours)
- Set the lid to be partially open to let some steam out (1 hour)
